Abstract:
Objective: To elucidate the main components and mechanism of adjuvant prevention of type 2 diabetes of
Citrus peel. Methods: The inhibitory activity of
Citrus peel of
α-glycosidase was determined
in vitro. It were used to predict the material basis and potential mechanism of
Citrus peel in the treatment of type 2 diabetes by network pharmacology, and verified the results by molecular docking. Results: The
α-glucosidase was inhibited by 13 kinds of
Citrus peel and showed a dose-effect relationship in the linear range. It was predicted that the active ingredients naringin, tangeretin and lauric acid might inhibit hyperglycemia through oxidative stress by network pharmacology and molecular docking.
Citrus peel treatment of type Ⅱ diabetes was related to PI3K-Akt, Ras, HIF-1 signaling pathway in inflammation and vascular related VEGF signaling pathway. Tangeretin was the main component. Conclusion:
Citrus peel had an inhibitory effect on
α-glycosidase , which might play a role in the prevention of type 2 diabetes.
