Abstract:
Appetite-regulating peptides are a class of polypeptides which can regulate appetite. They are mainly distributed in peripheral tissues such as the stomach and intestines,as well as in the hypothalamus. They can be divided into appetite-stimulating peptides and appetite-suppressing peptides according to their different mechanisms. The hypothalamus plays an important role in the process of appetite regulation, and its communication with peripheral tissues such as stomach and intestinal tract is an important way of appetite regulation. Our review discusses four appetite signaling pathways such as neuropeptide Y(NPY),ghrelin, peptide YY(PYY),leptin and the relationship between food and appetite-regulation peptides. Using mathematical and statistical methods can explore hot issues and their relationships in appetite regulation. This helps to understand the mechanism and research status in appetite-regulating peptides,in order to regulate appetite through diet, prevent the happening of the disease, and can provide references for further research on appetite regulation.
