  • Alternaria species can produce a variety of metabolites, that are Alternaria mycotoxins. Alternaria mycotoxins were found with obvious toxicity and they have acute or chronic toxic effects(mutagenicity, teratogenicity and carcinogenicity, etc)on people and animals, which raised the research interest of scientists. Therefore,it is a research hotspot to screen accurate, efficient and rapid detection methods for Alternaria mycotoxins. In this study, the classification, physicochemical properties were introduced. The main analytical methods and toxicological mechanism for Alternaria mycotoxins were summarized. The trends of the novel detection technologies and toxicological mechanism for Alternaria mycotoxis were also proposed. Its aims was to provide reference for the study of the risk assessment and poisoning prevention and treatment of Alternaria mycotoxis. At the same time,it could promote the health and safety of human beings and animals.
