Study on purification process of total flavonoids from Pinus massoniana needles

  • Seven different types of adsorbent resins, including of macroporous resins Amberlite XAD-7HP, AB-8, HPD-600, DM11, HPD-200A, Diaion HP-20 and polyamide, were studied on separation and purification of total flavonoids in Pinus massoniana Needles (TFPMNs) . Based on the results of static adsorption experiments, the favorite resin was chosen to carry out dynamic adsorption experiments. The results showed that Amberlite XAD -7HP resin had better adsorption and desorption properties. The optimum technology parameters were as follows:sample concentration was 10.8mg/mL, pH was 3.0, flow rate was 2BV/h and solution treatment capacity was 4BV each time. The total flavonoids could be desorbed by 2BV of 80% alcohol at the flow rate of 1BV/h. Under the optimum conditions mentioned above, the purity of total flavonoids reached to 65.9%, with a total flavonoids recovery rate of 80.2%.
