Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the role of serum hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1), lipoprotein a (Lp-a) and troponin T (TnT) in the anti-hypoxia protective mechanism of
Chrysanthemum Chuju. Methods:Before oxygen deprivation, mice were given 0.4 mL extract of
Chrysanthemum Chuju with DPPH free radical clearance of 87% to observe the effect of
Chrysanthemum Chuju pretreatment on the expression of serum HIF-1, Lp-a and TnT in hypoxic mice. Comparison of differences in serum HIF-1, Lp-a and TnT levels between hypoxia-resistant mice and hypoxia-sensitive mice was carried out to determine the risk factors of susceptibility to hypoxia and the protective mechanism of
Chrysanthemum Chuju against hypoxia. Results:Intervention of
Chrysanthemum Chuju promoted the expression of HIF-1 in hypoxic mice (
p<0.01) and down-regulated the levels of serum Lp-a and TnT (
p<0.05). Compared with hypoxia-sensitive mice, the serum level of HIF-1 in hypoxia-tolerant mice was significantly increased (
p<0.05) and TnT levels were significantly lower (
p<0.01), but no statistical difference found in Lp-a levels (
p>0.05). Conclusion:The hypoxia-resistance protective role of
Chrysanthemum chuju was related to up-regulation of HIF-1 and inhibition of TnT expression.
