Abstract:
Objective:To study on hypoglycemic effect and antioxidative effects of lyophilized bovine colostrums (LBC) and lyophilized milk (LM) .Methods:The free radical scavenging activity, IGFs and insulin content were detected by biochemical analysis.Alloxan diabetes model was induced in mice where rats were treated with Phenformin (100 mg/kg) , LM (600 mg/kg) and LBC (100、600 mg/kg) respectively.Besides, normal mice were used as control. The blood glucose, glucose tolerance and antioxidant and other indicators were measured after 30 days. Results:The EC
50of scavenging superoxide free radicals and DPPH free radicals were respectively 245.3, 167.2μg/m L in LBC.The content of IGF-I, IGF-Ⅱand insulin of LBC were 1146.5, 1303.0, 128.4 ng/g respectively.LM had a part of scavenging effect on hydroxyl free radicals, and the content of IGFs was significantly lower than LBC and insulin was not detected.LBC made significantly improvement on diabetic mice, significantly lower blood glucose levels, reduced the content of MDA and TC in serum, enhanced the tolerance and blood SOD activity.LM had no significant improvement in blood glucose level and antioxidant index. Conclusion:LBC included higher hypoglycemic factors, producted exhibited strong radical-scavenging activity in vivo than LM, which has hypoglycemic and antioxidative effects on diabetic mice.
