Abstract:
In the study, antibacterial activities of the grape seed extracts were examined, and the chemical components of two kinds of grape seed oil were additionally determined. Using the grape seeds from the East Helan Mountain Area in Ningxia as material, the inhibitory effects of grape seed extracts and grape seed oil on three kinds of bacteria were determined by microbial inhibition circle experiment. Besides, the chemical constituents of grape seed oil were determined by gas chromatography mass spectrometry(GC-MS). The results showed that the order of antibacterial activity of grape seed extracts on three kinds of bacteria was as follows:N-butanol part of 95% ethanol total extracts>95% ethanol total extracts>Petroleum ether part of 95% ethanol total extracts>Ethyl acetate part of 95% ethanol total extracts>grape seed oil. At the concentration of 0.20 g/mL,the sample of TEN had strong antibacterial activity of
Staphylococcus aureus and
Escherichia coli, and also showed a little stronger antibacterial effect on
Bacillus subtilis. The findings also indicated that chemical components of two kinds of grape seed oil were similar, eleven and ten compounds were identified in oil-1 and oil-2,the main components were fatty acids and esters. However, they were very different in the content of each component, the contents of linoleic acid in Oil-1 and Oil-2 were 55.36% and 43.97%,respectively. Except linoleic acid, the contents of other similar components in Oil-1 were lower than those in Oil-2.It is suggested that the n-butanol extract of grape seed can be used for food preservation, this experiment can provide basic theoretical support for the development and utilization of grape seeds.
