Abstract:
Akkermansia muciniphila is an enteric anaerobic bacterium that is specifically grown in the mammalian intestinal mucus layer. In recent years,a number of studies have confirmed that the abundance of the bacteria in the intestine was closely related to the nutritional and metabolic diseases of the host. In this paper, the biological characteristics, colonization environment and the relationship with metabolic diseases and so on were reviewed, and make an expectation of the bacteria about the three aspects of work to be carried out of the bacteria in the future.
