Abstract:
In this paper, the effect of postharvest sodium silicate dipping at 100 mmol / L on Phenylalanine ammonialyase( PAL),Chalcone synthase( CHS),Peroxidase( POD),β- 1,3- glucanase( β- 1,3- Glu) mRNA expression of muskmelon fruit( Cucumis melo L.) were evaluated in this experiments. The results indicated that the mRNA expression of PAL,CHS,POD and β- 1,3- Glu genes were increased by the sodium silicate. PAL,CHS and POD genes with sodium silicate treatment expressed maximum after 6,6,2 d respectively, the expression of PAL,CHS and POD were 2.69,2.48,3.77 times that of the control. It was suggested that postharvest sodium silicate treatment enhanced the disease resistance by inducing the mRNA expression of PAL,CHS,POD and β-1,3- Glu genes in muskmelon fruits.
