Abstract:
Objective:The paper investigated antioxidant and antiproliferative properties of various extracts(Ethyl Acetate,N-butanol,Chloroforms,Aqueous) from the shells of Camellia Oleifera Abel. with in vitro. Methods:Total phenolics and total flavonoids were measured by Folin- Ciocalteu reagent and aluminium chloride reagent, respectively. And,the antioxidant activity was tested by DPPH and hydroxyl assays in vitro. Besides, the proliferative activity of the different human cancer cell lines was detected by CCK-8 assay. Results :Total phenolic contents of extracts(Ethyl Acetate,N-butanol,Chloroforms,Aqueous) were(79.25 ±4.552)mg/g,(51.81±3.651)mg/g,(2.762±0.523)mg/g,(19.73±1.191)mg/g respectively, and total flavonoid contents were(26.73±0.613)mg/g,(15.63±1.126)mg/g,(13.16±0.672)mg/g,(5.734±0.761mg/g,respectively. The antioxidant activities of these extracts in a range of concentrations from 15.625 to 250μg/m L increased in dose-dependent manner. More over, the antiproliferative activities of these extract in a range of concentrations from 62.5 to250μg/m L increased in dose-dependent manner. Conclusion:Antioxidant and antiproliferative activities strength of Ethyl acetate extracts>N-butanol extracts>Aqueous extracts>Chloroform extracts in vitro,Ethyl acetate was an effective solvent to extract shell of Camellia oleifera Abel.
