Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to investigate the taxonomic status of endophytic bacterial strain CICC 10707 isolated from Paracel Islands wild Noni ( Morinda citrifolia L.) seeds, and build up a good basis for the further studies on its biological function. Polyphasic taxonomy was served as the research method including morphological, physiological and molecular analysis. The result indicated that CICC 10707 was identified as Herbaspirillum seropedicae in the genus Herbaspirillum. It was also indicated that oxidase and catalase reaction were both positive, and mannose, glucose, erythritol and other substrates listed in this article could be used as carbon sources.
