Abstract:
Hemostatic effects of the ethanol extract of Dioscorea cirrhosa Lour on mice and its active ingredients were researched, in order to take advantage of the Dioscorea cirrhosa Lour ethanol extract to produce hemostatic drugs and improve the use value of Dioscorea cirrhosa Lour. In this experiment, an aqueous solution of 80% ethanol was used as solvent to get the Dioscorea cirrhosa Lour ethanol extract. These mice were divided into blank group, the positive control group, low-dose group and high dose group. Those were prepared by gavage administration. After 10 days, bleeding time, clotting time and platelet count were measured. Results showed the Dioscorea cirrhosa Lour ethanol extract could effectively shorten bleeding time and clotting time of mice and increase the number of platelets, and had a good hemostatic effect. Its active ingredients were polyphenols, glycosides, flavonoids, anthraquinone, triterpenoids, sterols, organic acids, and the like.
