Abstract:
Food allergen reference material is an important material to deal with the problem of food allergy. In the aspects of food allergen standardization, achievements have been made in purification, structure and immunology characterization towards egg, milk and peanut, which provide support for the research and development of single allergen. So far, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has produced eight allergic food reference materials. However, only RM 8445 was produced for the evaluation of the commercial kits used for the detecting of egg. In EU-funded project, EuroPrevall project has develop a food allergen library, and CREATE project first demonstrate that rBet v 1 can be the candidate of reference standard for Bet v 1, which provide a good strategy for the development of food allergen reference material. In a word, the study of food allergenic protein reference materials is an important and challenge work.
