Antioxidant and tyrosinase inhibitory activity in B16 cells of Guanxi pomelo essential oil

  • In this study,the oil of Guanxi pomelo oil(GP oil)was prepared by cold pressing method,and the antioxidant activity and the effect on tyrosinase of pomelo oil were compared and analyzed. The results showed that the DPPH free radical scavenging rate of GP oil reached 68% at 150 mg/mL which was lower than that of BHT,IC50 was 70.12 mg/mL. At 3 mg/mL,the hydroxyl free radical scavenging rate of GP oil was 92%,which was higher than that of VC at the same concentration,IC50 was 0.88 mg/mL;when the mass concentration was 1.0 mg/mL,the total antioxidant activity of GP oil was 20.35% higher than that of BHT. And the activation rate of tyrosinase was lower than that of kojic acid when the concentration of GP oil was more than 100 μg/mL,IC50 was 157.45 μg/mL. It means that the GP oil could inhibit the tyrosinase effect of B16 cells. As the GP oil has a good antioxidant and whitening effect,it had a better application prospects in food and cosmetics.
