Research Progress on Numerical Modeling of Flow Field and Operating Parameters in Twin Screw Extruder

  • Twin screw extrusion technology is an advanced material extrusion technology,which has a wide application prospect in the field of polymer processing and food processing. It is of great significance for improving the geometry and operation parameters of twin-screw extruder to study the flow state and characteristics of materials in the channel. In this paper,the flow field simulation results are analyzed by means of simulation model applicability analysis,screw geometric structure numerical simulation and operation parameter simulation,the factors affecting the flow state are analyzed emphatically. Some suggestions on further optimizing the numerical simulation algorithm,establishing the relationship of quality index and realizing the visualization of the extruder are put forward,which can provide a reference for better controlling the extruder process and predicting the extruder results.
