Nondestructive Detection of Total Soluble Solids and Total Acids in Navel Orange by Ultrasound

  • Objective:To detect the main internal quality parameters of navel orange by ultrasonic nondestructive testing technology. Methods:After the establishment of ultrasonic nondestructive testing platform, the same batch of navel oranges were divided into experimental group and control group. The two groups were tested for 20 days, with 24 h interval each time. According to the test results, the relationship between ultrasonic characteristic parameters and internal quality parameters of navel orange was established and tested. Results:The fitting equation between ultrasonic attenuation coefficient(A)and total solid(TSS)of navel orange was established:TSS=2.512A3-11.78A2+23.03A-2.805,R2=0.9982,RSME=0.1377,prediction relative error σ<5%. The fitting equation between ultrasonic attenuation coefficient and total acid(TA)of navel orange was established:TA=-0.5219A3+2.073A2-2.724A+1.716,R2=0.9735,RSME=0.0131,prediction relative error σ<5%. Conclusion:The attenuation coefficient of ultrasound is sensitive to the change of internal quality of navel orange. It is feasible to use ultrasonic nondestructive testing technology to detect the internal quality of navel orange.
