Research Progress of Riboflavin-mediated Photodynamic Technology

  • Riboflavin is a vitamins B,it exists in a small part of the human body and widely distributed in food. The riboflavin has a good effect on the metabolism,the growth and the development of the human body. Photodynamic technology is a newly,environmentally friendly and efficiently control method. Photosensitizer is the core factor in photodynamic technology. Riboflavin-mediated photodynamic technology are widely used in the treatment of tumors,skin disease and other medicine. However,variety of studies shows that the photosensitive properties of riboflavin still have some negative effects on the human health and food stability. Therefore,this paper reviews the functional characteristics of riboflavin,the application of riboflavin as photosensitizer mediated photodynamic technique in the treatment of diseases,plant diseases and insect pests,as well as its influence on human health and food stability,which would provide a reference basis for further development of photodynamic technology.
