Research Advances in Application of Color Indicator Intelligent Packaging for Monitoring Freshness of Raw Meat

  • As a new type of packaging,color indicator intelligent packaging can help consumers judge the freshness of raw meat products more intuitively. Meanwhile,it has advantages of small size,low cost and intuitive accuracy. In this paper,the principle of color indicator intelligent packaging is described and color indicator type as well as film substrate type is reviewed. At the same time,its application in monitoring of fresh meat freshness is systematically discussed. Moreover,limitations of the intelligent packaging are pointed out as well as its future development is prospected. Overall,this review provided a theoretical base for promoting the application of color indicator intelligent packaging in development of monitoring the freshness of raw meat.
