Effect of Corn Peptide on Immune Function of Chronic Alcoholism in Mice

  • To study the effect of corn peptide on immune function of chronic alcoholism in mice,Kunming mice were divided into five groups:Three dosage groups(low, middle and high dose)of corn peptide, normal control group and alcohol model group. After fed for 5 months, the mice were killed to measure the immune organ index, serum cytokine levels, and indicators related to oxidative stress in serum and liver tissues. The spleen and thymus were obtained to observe the pathological changes by HE pathological sections. The results showed that corn peptide could alleviate the damage of spleen and thymus in chronic alcoholism mice with a dose response relationship;corn peptide could significantly increase the levels of TNF-α,IL-6,IFN-γ and SOD in serum, decrease the levels of MDA in serum and liver(P<0.05). Long-term alcohol feeding could lead to immune function damage in mice, however, corn peptides could enhance body immunity by regulating cytokine levels and improving oxidative stress state.
