Research Progress in the Mechanism of Anti-obesity Effect of Quercetin

  • Obesity has become a global epidemic,and is closely related to the occurrence of metabolic syndrome such as diabetes,cardiovascular disease,and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. It has become a common aspiration for people to seek effective and safe weight loss drugs. Quercetin is a kind of flavonoid in the diet. Studies have shown that it has function of anti-obesity. This paper reviewed the mechanism of quercetin anti-obesity in recent years,including inhibiting the absorption of dietary energy nutrients,improving lipid metabolism,inhibiting the accumulation of triglycerides,promoting lipoapoptosis,and regulating the release of inflammatory factors.
