Rapid Identification of Different Animal Meat Based on Gene Detection

  • In this paper, five breeds of cattle, sheep, pig, dog and horse were taken as subject,a method for rapid detection and identification of the genes was established. Specific primers were screened for the mitochondrial genes of cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs and horses, and the conditions for detection of all breeds were optimized. Specific primers were used to amplify the DNA of each breed, and the recombinant plasmids were sequenced to establish a rapid detection model for common meat and meat products. The results showed that this method could successfully detect five kinds of breeds in 30 minutes at the same time. The specificity of nucleic acid primers was strong, and there was no cross reaction with other species. The sequence of recombinant plasmid was aligned with the sequence of target gene, and the homology was 100%. The minimum detection limit of meat gene was 5×10-7 μg,indicating that the rapid detection method was highly specific and sensitive. The method could detect several breed samples simultaneously, and was suitable for the detection of cooked meat samples. It provided a basis for quick identification of cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs and horses, and provided a theoretical reference for the rapid identification of different livestock species.
