Components and Antibacterial Activities of Extracts from the Fruits of Ribes stenocarpum Maxim in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Their Anti-fatigue Activity

  • In order to provide a theoretical basis for the exploitation and utilization of Ribes resources, organic acid extract, ethyl acetate extract and n-butanol extract were prepared respectively from the fruits of Ribes stenocarpum Maxim in the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, and their antibacterial activity and anti-fatigue activity were investigated. The results of antibacterial experiments showed that the different crude extracts in the fruits of Ribes stenocarpum Maxim had certain antibacterial effects. When the concentration was 100 mg/mL, ethyl acetate extract II had the best inhibitory effect on C.albicans, and the diameter of the inhibitory circle reached 20 mm (very sensitive), the total organic acid and total flavonoids in the crude extract were (2.30±0.1) and (2.28±0.02) mg/g, respectively. The antibacterial effect was better than the positive control (drug ampicillin, 10 IU/tablet), and the MIC and MBC values for C.albicans were 1.56, 3.13 mg/mL, respectively. Moreover, its antibacterial effect enhanced with the increase of the concentration of the extraction. In the anti-fatigue activity experiment, the results showed that compared with the blank control group, each dose group of ethyl acetate extract II in the fruits of Ribes stenocarpum Maxim could significantly prolong the swimming time of mice (p<0.05), improve the level of myoglycogen and liver glycogen, and enhance the activity of lactic acid dehydrogenase, at the same time, the serum content of urine nitrogen was reduced, revealing that the fruits of Ribes stenocarpum Maxim had good anti-fatigue activity and the effect was better than Rhodiola positive control group.
