Protective Effects of Sporoderm-broken Spore Powder of Haematococcus pluvialis on Alcoholic Liver Injury in Mice

  • Objective:To explore the protective effect of Haematococcus pluvialis against alcohol liver injury in mice. Methods:the experimental animals were randomly divided into control group, model group and three dose groups, alcoholic liver injury model was induced by 50% ethanol for 7 days. After 16 h of the last administration, serum and liver were obtained and related markers were determined. The activities of serum ALT, AST, TG and TG, the content of hepatic MDA, SOD, GSH, TNF-α and IL-1β in liver were measured. Results:Compared with model group, the liver index of treatment groups extremely significantly reduced (p<0.01), and the serum elevation of AST and TC significantly decreased (p<0.05), the content of MDA and GSH significantly decreased, the SOD activity increased, the content of inflammatory factor TNF-α reduced, and the content of IL-1β extremely significantly decreased (p<0.01). Furthermore, the pathological injury of liver tissues was also significantly improved. Conclusion:Haematococcus pluvialis could have a significant hepatoprotective effect against alcohol-induced liver injury in mice.
