Economic Indexes of Camellia oleifera Fruit and Fatty Acid Composition of Camellia Oil based on Principal Component Analysis

  • In order to provide a theoretical basis for the selection of site for the cultivation of Camellia oleifera,13 indicators including the economic indexes of Camellia oleifera fruits and fatty acid composition of Camellia oil in 9 sites were determined and analyzed. In addition,9 sites were analyzed and ranked based on the scatter plot of PCAs and the comprehensive scores of each site. The results indicated that the overall score of the 9 sites were ranked as:west downhill > west slope > south downhill > west uphill > south uphill > south slope > east uphill > east downhill > east slope. Overall, the economic indexes of Camellia oleifera fruit and the fatty acid composition of Camellia oil showed that the west slope were better than the south slope over the east slope, and the downhill slope were better than the middle slope and the uphill slope. It could be concluded that site factors were important factors affecting the economic indexes of Camellia oleifera fruit and the fatty acid composition of Camellia oil. Slope factors had a certain influence on the quality of Camellia oleifera. From the aspects of the economical indexes of Camellia oleifera fruit and the fatty acid composition of Camellia oil,the selection of Camellia oleifera might give preference to the western slope, the southern slope and the downhill slope.
