Analysis of the Status in Domestic Registered Weight-reduction Health Foods

  • To analyze the condition and distribution of raw materials and functional ingredients of domestic registered weight-reduction health foods,and provide reference for development and supervision in this kind of products. A retrospective method was used to systematically survey the information of registered weight-reduction health foods on the CFDA website,and a database was established and analyzed. Results showed that:There had 360 currently valid domestic weight-reduction health foods. The most frequently used materials were lotus leaf,cassia seed and L-carnitine,etc. The most frequently tested functional and dominant ingredients were L-carnitine,total flavonoids,and total anthraquinone,etc. The defects of weight-reduction products were generally exist,such as commonly selections of raw materials,obsolete testing methods of functional and dominant ingredients,insufficient toxicological studies on anthraquinone-containing materials. In conclusion,the development of new materials and prescriptions was urgently required,modern analysis methods were needed in quality control to develop more safe and effective products.
