Progress in biological detoxification of aflatoxin B1 and its degradation metabolites toxicity evaluation

  • Aflatoxin,with low molecular weight,is a group of secondary metabolites produced by the Aspergillusflavus,Aspergillus parasiticus and Aspergillus nomius. It is a highly toxic fungal metabolite having carcinogenic,mutagenic and teratogenic effects on human and animal health.Aflatoxin can contaminate a range of food crops,feeds and milk as a serious of fungal growth.It is particularly important to remove AFB1 efficiently and non-pollution.The review focuses on the detoxification methods including adsorption detoxification and degradation detoxification,mechanism of aflatoxins and the toxic of the degradation products,to enrich the aflatoxin detoxification mechanism and provide a theoretical basis for the secure detoxification.
