Main chemical constituents anlysis of Lycium barbarum L.from different regions

  • Lycium barbarum L. ( L.barbarum) is one of the traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, distributed in different ecological areas at present, such as Ningxia, Xinjiang region, Qinghai, Gansu Province, Inner Mongolia and so on. The chemical constituents of L.barbarum in different regions were measured.Nine of main chemical components of“Ningqi”No.1 ( one of the main cultivars of L.barbarum) in 10 different places from Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Xinjiang uygur autonomous region, Qinghai Province, Gansu Province, Inner Mongolia Autonomous region were determined. The results showed that there was no difference among the contents of the chemical components of carotenoids and ash in different 5 regions mentioned above ( p >0.05) , but the contents of the total sugar and total reducing sugar were the lowest in Ningxia Autonomous region, and the total contents of polysaccharide ( 3.61%) , flavones ( 0.56%) and Se ( 0.62 mg/kg) were the highest from Ningxia Autonomous region. It means that Ningxia Autonomous region is benefit for L. Barbarum ( “Ningqi”No.1) to accumulate polysaccharide, flavones and Se.
