Isolation and identification of moldy fungus from coix seed in Guizhou

  • The moldy fungus were isolated and purified from coix seed originated in Guizhou province.The point planting method was used to observe the growth traits and colony characteristics of fungus on the PDA medium. On the basis of morphological identification, 15 strains were isolated from the mould coix seed by the molecular method ITS sequence amplification.Finally, 8strains were categorized and identified, including Aspergillus oryzae ( C1) , Aspergillus niger ( C2) , Aspergillus nidulans ( C3) , Aspergillus fumigatus ( C4) , Aspergillus cristatus ( C5) , Fusarium proliferatum ( C6) , Fusarium equiseti ( C7) and Penicillium aethiopicum ( C8) .This result showed that the eight strains had obvious influence on coix seed, and were presumed to be the main type of mold in coix seed, which provided reference coix seed storage and anti-mildew inhibition control in future.
