Advances in research of effects of transportation vibration on storage quality of fruits

  • In this paper, to seek the principle about effects on fruit quality on storage caused by long-distance transport, the research findings of quality change of various fruits at present which were proceeded by simulative transportation vibrations were reviewed.Fruits play an increasingly important role in daily life. By comparing the development situation of transport and store in China and other developed countries, the paper stated the current inadequacy of long-distance transport at home.It also stated research status of fruits vibration damage characteristics, and summarized the methods and influencing factors of simulative transportation vibrations. In addition, this paper analyzed the research progress of which transportation vibration affects postharvest storage quality characteristics of fruits respectively in these aspects: the change of appearance, nutrition, quality, ripen-softening, ethylene respiratory rate of fruits and antioxidant metabolism. Thus, it concluded that long-distance transport can lead to deformation, flavor taste and lower percentage of nutrition of fruits, and accelerate ripen-softening and ethylene respiratory rate. Finally, as mentioned, the paper put forward the deficiency existing in current research and the future research direction about transportation vibration of fruits.
