Effect of simulating transportation vibration stress on changes of physiology and biochemistry of “Yinhong” plum

  • The effect of vibration time on postharvest storage of plum fruit was discussesed, which provided some theoretical basis for the reduce of postharvest plum fruit vibration damage. The physiology and quality changes of “Yinhong”plum was studied with mechanical stress of simulated transport vibration. The result showed that respiratory rate of“Yinhong”plum under vibration stress was increased at the early storage time, and then decreased, and was significantly different from the control group with the extension of vibration time ( p < 0.05) , while titratable acid and soluble solid content were significantly decreased compared with the control group.Vitamin C of “Yinhong”plum under vibration stress was decreased compared with control group ( p > 0.05) , but there was statistically no significant difference. The activity of polyphenol oxidase was more significantly increased first and then decreased, the activity of peroxidase was increased very significant, and there was significant differences of the two enzyme activites between vibration stress group and control group. The “Yinhong”plum is an injury-prone plum cultivars.Transportation vibration stress can speed up the maturation and senescence of “Yinhong”plum.
