Development of biosensors for the detection of pesticide and veterinary drug residues in foods

  • Due to serious side effects in human,pesticide and veterinary drug residues in foods are one of the important issues in food safety,which have attracted a great deal of public attentions.Owing to the virtues of their specificity,fast response and low cost,biosensors play an important role in the detection of pesticide and veterinary drug residues in foods. This paper was presented as an overview of applications of immunosensors,aptasensors and enzyme sensors for the analysis of pesticide and veterinary drug residues in foods.Possible future directions were also outlined.
