Asymmetric polymerase chain reaction technology and its application in detection of foodborne pathogens

  • Asymmetric PCR( a PCR) is an important method to obtain single stranded DNA. This technology combined with commonly nucleic acid detection methods were widely used for the detection of foodborne pathogens due to its high sensitivity and specificity. In this paper,a PCR was introduced, and the application of a PCR in the detection of foodborne pathogens during the past 10 years was reviewed, furthermore, the problems of a PCR were briefly discussed.
