Progress in the angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitory peptides from marine proteins

Angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE) inhibitory peptides,as potential active ingredients of regulating blood pressure,plays an important role in regulating the blood pressure.Much attention has been paid to ACE inhibitory peptides from marine proteins,which is a hotspot of research on the future. This paper presents an overview of preparation,purification,identification,and structure-activity relationship of ACE inhibitory peptides from marine proteins.In addition,the in vitro or in vivo biological activities of ACE inhibitory peptides were discussed. Furthermore,prospects for further study and application of marine protein-derived ACE inhibitory peptides also were addressed.
