Fermentation process of Candida utilis for selenium- enriched and production of glutathione

  • The main purpose of this study was to prepare high bioactive selenium/glutathione-enriched yeast,the Candida utilis was used as the parent strain.The culture process and selenite addition mode were investigated in a 100 L stirred fermentor.The result showed that exponential feeding was the most suitable approach to attain high concentrations of cell(72 g/L),intracellular GSH(1080 mg/L) and selenium organic transformation rate( 86%) with feeding of 125 mg/L Na_2SeO_3 and3 mmol / L L-cys,the intracellular selenium reached 1493 μg/g.
