Study on the oxidative damage effects of dibutyl phthalate on Caenorhabditis elegans

  • The aim of this article was to investigate the oxidative damage effect of dibutyl phthalate( DBP) in C.elegans.C.elegans in L2 period were expoused to the different concentrations of DBP( 32.5,131 and 522 mg / L)for 48 h. Then the activities of T- SOD,CAT and the contents of GSH,MDA in C.elegans were measured. With increasing DBP concentration,the contents of MDA increased. Compared with the control group,the activities of T- SOD and CAT and the contents of GSH were significantly decreased in 522 mg / L DBP treatment group( p <0.01).These results suggested that DBP could induce the oxidative damage in C.elegans.
