Comparative studies on different extraction process of saponin from quinoa seeds

  • Objective: Through the comparison of different extraction conditions of saponin from quinoa seeds and select the best methods and optimal process. Methods: The effects of extraction temperature,time,extraction concentration and ratio of material to liquid on the content of saponin were investigated by orthogonal test based on the single factor experiments,and different methods including ultrasonic extraction method,methanol reflux method and ethanol reflux method were compared. Results: The optimum conditions were extraction time of 1 h,extraction temperature of 60 ℃,ethanol concentration of 90% and liquid of 1 ∶ 15( g ∶ m L).Under this condition,the content of saponin was 5.06 mg / g. Conclusion: Ultrasonic extraction method is the best one in saponin extraction from quinoa seeds.The study provided a scientific theory support and technical reference for the saponin extraction from quinoa seeds.
