Antioxidant activity of water extraction from Acanthopanacis senticosus

  • Water soluble components of Acanthopanax senticosus were extracted by hot water,extraction liquid on DPPH free radical scavenging rate as evaluation index,the effect of the extraction temperature,extraction time,solid-liquid ratio and extraction times on the antioxidant activity were studied to obtain the optimal extraction condition.Orthogonal test showed that the optimial conditions were reaction temperature of 70 ℃,extraction time of110 min,material liquid ratio of 1 ∶ 80( g / m L),twice extraction,and the removal rate was the DPPH free radical scavenging rate was 69.14%.In addition,DPPH,superoxide anion and hydroxyl radical scavenging activities of the extraction obtained under optimal extraction condition and vitamin C were analyzed. Results showed that superoxide anion radical scavenging activities of the extraction was lower than vitamin C( p < 0.05),and scavenging rate was 31.69%. However,DPPH and hydroxyl radical scavenging activities of the extraction were higher than vitamin C( p < 0.05),and hydroxyl radical scavenging rate was 76.03%.
