Optimization of extraction process of polysaccharides from corn bract by response surface methodology

  • In this study,optimization of extraction process of polysaccharides from corn bract( PCB) by response surface methodology was investigated. Based on the results of single factor experiment,four factors,including extraction time,extraction temperature,the ratio of liquid to raw material,and ethanol concentration were selected as impacting factors,and PCB yield as the response value. Mathematical model was established to analyze response surface using Box- Behnken central composite design. The optimal extraction process was as follows:extraction time 2.0 h,extraction temperature 83 ℃,liquid to solid ratio 17 ∶ 1( m L / g),and alcohol precipitation concentration 63%.Under these conditions,the yield of PCB was 0.552%.
