Study on antihypertensive effect of the rice bran protein ACE inhibitory peptides on rats

  • Through adopting the method of gavage and intravenous injection, the antihypertensive effect of rice bran protein ACE inhibitory peptides on the stress- induced hypertension( SHR) rats was observed and then compared with the captopril.Rice bran protein ACE inhibitory peptide one- time dosing of respectively 50,100,150 mg / kg·bw was conducted, with blood pressure measuring for the rats every 2 hours which continuously 8 hours. The experiment lasted four weeks with gavage once daily and weekly measurement of blood pressure and weight once. After the SHR rats were given rice bran protein ACE inhibitory peptides, the blood pressure was decreased significantly( p < 0.05),and reached the lowest value in two- hours' gavage, which was reduced by( 31 ± 6.8)mm Hg.While the normal rats did not change significantly after it,but captopril can significantly reduce their blood pressure.Long- term gavage of rice bran protein ACE inhibitory peptides can significantly decrease SHR blood pressure( p < 0.05) and had a stable antihypertensive effect.
