Effect of green tea powder on inosine monophosphate and vitamin E content in chicken of broiler

  • In order to examine the effect of green tea supplementation on inosine monophosphate( IMP) and vitamin E content in chicken of broiler,a total of 450 Arbor Acres broilers( 1 d old) were selected and unintentionally allocated into 5 groups( 90 broilers in one group) in this study.And then,this 5 groups were randomly subjected to the following 5 treatments,0%,1%,2%,4% and 6% green tea powder in daily diets for 42 d. Our results showed that green tea supplementation significantly increased the IMP content in breast muscle of broilers compared to those of the control,specifically,IMP content in breast muscle of male and female broilers in 2%,4%,6% green tea groups were significantly improved by 36.99%( p < 0.01),53.78%( p < 0.01),48.15%( p < 0.01) and 28.52%( p <0.01),34.49%( p < 0.01),54.28%( p < 0.01),respectively.Furthermore,as to thigh muscle IMP content of broilers in green treated groups,only a increasing trend was showed.And similar increasing trend was also demonstrated in breast muscle rate,thigh muscle rate and vitamin E content of broiler chicken.The results of this study could offer theoretical foundation for the application of green tea,especially surplus green tea during summer- autumn,in poultry breeding industry.
