Fabrication and character of a new capsule made from modified corn starch treated with isoamylase

  • A novel plant hard capsule was made from corn starch modified by isoamylase, and polyving akohol, alginate and carrageenan was used as uxiliary materials. Then the new kind of capsule film was tested about its characters of humility sensitivity and disintegration. It was indicated that, the process of starch expansion and gelation could be controlled very well, when the corn starch treated by 0.2m L 10mg/m L isoamylase for 5min.The viscosity of the sol was reduced effectively as well. The film-forming characters and strength of the starch film were enhanced, by added 3.0% carrageenan, 0.2g KCl, 1.0% glycerinum, 0.2% PVA and 0.5% alginate, also, the disintegration time of the capsule would be controlled effectively and reasonably.
