  • Lutein was one of carotenoids without vitamin A activity. It was a pure natural pigment. Lutein was a natural food pigment and nutrition agent. This paper provided an overview of analytical methods about lutein,which introduced the principles,traits and applicability of these methods. The problems at present and the emphasis of analysis of lutein were put forward to give a light of the further work.
