Antimicrobial effect of endophytes from Myricaria laxiflora on the fungus causing citrus rot in Three Gorges area

  • A dominant fungus was isolated from completely rotten citrus in Three Gorges area. Based on r DNAInternal transcribed spacer(ITS) analysis, the closest homology of this strain were Fusarium and Gibberella.Meanwhile, the antimicrobial effect of 12 endophytes with high antioxidant capacity from locally Myricaria laxiflora plants was screened by inhibition zone method. Six endophytes showed obvious antimicrobial effect.Particularly, the strain QY1 exhibited the strongest antioxidant and antifungal activity, indicating that the endophytes from Myricaria laxiflora had a positive effect on biological preservation and anti-corrosion of the Three Gorges citrus.
