Study on the antioxidant activities of Erzi Juhua Yin and the contents of luteolin and quercetin

  • The antioxidant activities of the total extract from Erzi Juhua Yin were determined by DPPH·,salicylic acid and pyrogallol auto- oxidation assay,and HPLC was applied for the quantity of luteolin and quercetin in Erzi Juhua Yin.Results showed that the water extracts of Erzi Juhua Yin had better scavenging effect on DPPH·,·OH,O-2·in the determination of the concentration range,EC50 being 47.16,12.37,88.57 mg / m L,respectively,which indicated the water extracts of Erzi Juhua Yin had good antioxidant activities.The linear relationship of luteolin and quercetin were well between mass concentrations of 0.171 ~ 0.857μg / m L and 0.161 ~ 0.805μg / m L,respectively. Recovery of luteolin and quercetin were between 95.75% ~ 98.55% and 95.22% ~ 99.67%,respectively. Under this condition,the content of luteolin and quercetin in Erzi Juhua Yin were 0.0758% and 0.0673%,respectively,to provide a basis for its health effect.
