Determination of malondialdehyde in edible oils by high performance liquid chromatography

  • A method was developed for determination of malondialdehyde( MDA) in Oil by high performance liquid chromatography.The malondialdehyde was extracted by trichloroacetic acid solutions and reacted with thiobarbituric acid( TBA) in samples. The final derivatives were separated by C18 column and analyzed by HPLC with fluorescence detector.Under the optimized conditions,the limit of detection was 0.02 mg / kg,the recovery was in the range of 87.1% ~103.2%,the RSD was less than 6%.This method was simple,high sensibility and suitable for the analysis of MDA in edible oils.
