Effect of ultra-high pressure treatment on the structure and properties of soft plastic packaging materials and mechanism research

  • As one of the most potential preservation technology, ultra high pressure sterilization technology could better maintain the nutrition and flavor of food. The effects of ultra high pressure on the packing material gain our attention. This paper reviewed the current research about the influence of ultra high pressure on soft plastic packaging materials, summarized the effect of high pressure treatment on material structure, mechanical properties, barrier properties, mass transfer and adsorption, analyzed reasons of changes on material structure and performance, concluded that the important factors of effect of ultra high pressure on materials include the material properties, processing conditions, the interactions of contents with materials and package headspace volume etc. Pointed out that In order to give a further research on the impact mechanism of ultra high pressure, we could study the material structure and molecular motion from the micro.
