Effect of chitosan on clarification of extracting solution from Rhizoma Chuanxiong

  • With the the retention rate of ligustrazine and light transmittance of the extracting solution as indexes, the optimum condition of clarification process of extracting solution from Rhizoma Chuanxiong with chitosan was investigated using single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment. The optimum conditions of Chuanxiong were as follows:water bath temperature 50℃, amount of chitosan 1.33g/L and p H value 4.0. Under this condition, the retention rate of ligustrazine was 72.3%, the light transmittance was 62.7%. The clarification technology by chitosan had a good effect on the extracting solution from Rhizoma Chuanxiong, in addition, the effective component of Rhizoma Chuanxiong was well preserved.
