Determination of eight organic tin stabilizers in food stimulant by gas chromatography-mass spectrum

  • A method had been established for determination of eight organic tin stabilizers in food stimulants.Food stimulants were derivatized by sodium tetraethyl borate at 25℃. The ethyl derivative products were extracted by n- hexane then tested by gas chromatography- mass spectroscopy. The detections of the compounds were from 0. 01 ~ 0. 05 mg / L, the linear ranges were between 0. 2 ~ 5. 0mg / L, with the correlation coefficients R2 from 0.9945 to 0.9998. The recoveries in 3 food stimulants at two concentration levels were from74.7% to 116% with the relative standard deviations from 0.6% to 15.4%. 11 plastic food containers were tested by this method. The results showed that none of them contained any of the 8 organic tin stabilizers.
