Study on the enzymatic extraction of fucoxanthin from Laminaria japonica residue

  • Fucoxanthin, a kind of lutein substances, which is peculiar to Marine algae, has strong antioxidant activity. It has tremendous value in the development and utilization of alleviate eyestrain, anti- aging, prevention of cardiovascular disease and other aspects. This experiment adopted enzymatic broken technology. The tool enzymes included cellulase, pectinase and composite enzyme ( composed of cellulase and pectinase) . In this study, the extraction conditions of fucoxanthin from the Laminaria japonica residue after extracting seaweed gel in seaweed processing enterprise were studied. Screening of extraction conditions of fucoxanthin, included the amount of enzyme, p H value, enzymatic hydrolysis time, and enzymatic hydrolysis temperature. The results showed that compared with the traditional extraction method ( the yield was 0.034%) , under the enzymatic wall- broken treatment, the yield of fucoxanthin in cellulase treatment group was 0.046%, pectinase treatment group was 0.124%and composite enzyme treatment group was 0.137%. Finally, selected pectinase extraction of fucoxanthin as the best method, the optimal procedure of pectinase extraction of fucoxanthin was obtained when the amount of pectinase was 20000U·kg- 1, the p H value of enzymatic hydrolysis conditions was 5.0, the temperature was 60℃and the time was 90 min, and the yield of fucoxanthin was 0.124%. This extraction method has high extraction efficiency, environmental protection and other advantages, which provides technical support for the use of seaweed fucoxanthin developing high value- added pharmaceutical and functional foods.
