Response surface optimization of fermentation medium for astaxanthin by pseudomonas

  • Response surface methodology was used to optimize fermentation medium for astaxanthin production by the strain. The highest astaxanthin yield of 149.4mg/L was achieved under the following conditions:KH2PO40.4%, MgSO4·7H2O 0.08%, yeast powder 0.3% and soluble starch 1.2%. In addition, the established regression model was found to had good effectiveness in predicting astaxanthin yield.
